Clean Air Trek is a multi-media, cross-platform campaign designed to inspire people to understand the air we breathe, become Clean Air Trekkers, and work towards cleaner air for Southeastern Wisconsin. Developed by Discovery World and sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Clean Air Trek is an exciting, hands-on exhibit that allows visitors to explore how we affect the air.
To carry the Clean Air Trek exhibit into the real world, Discovery World designed and developed a series of posters currently seen on bus shelters along routes 10, 14, 15, and 21.
Each poster is a mini-exhibit focusing on one facet of the Clean Air Trek exhibit – land use, alternative forms of transportation, new technology, Eco-Driving, innovation and creativity, buying local, and seeing your neighborhood and the city in new ways. The posters show real people who improve air quality simply by being who they are and moving through the city the way they do.
Discovery World also produced the Clean Air Trek Radio Show – an 8-part series broadcast on Milwaukee School of Engineering’s WMSE FM, published the Clean Air Trek Guidebook, and worked with Milwaukee Montessori High School to develop a Clean Air Trek curriculum.
